Jason Michalak transformed 750 acres of property atop a cedar mountain facing Highway 83.

Meet Jason Michalak, a drag racing record-holder turned ranch owner in Con Can, Texas, proving that life's fastest moments can seamlessly transition into the slow, scenic beauty of the Hill Country.

In 2016, Michalak, along with his family, embarked on a bold journey to transform 750 acres of cedar-covered mountains into the Michalak Ranch. Armed with heavy machinery, he carved 30 miles of roads through challenging terrain, creating a haven atop a cedar mountain facing Highway 83.

The lodge, a symbol of Michalak's hands-on approach, features a kitchen with cement countertops, a bar, and a design that blends indoor and outdoor living. Recycled materials, including tin from a barn in New Braunfels, contribute to the rustic charm of the lodge and a recently added mountaintop cabin.

The Michalaks have embraced a sustainable lifestyle, repurposing materials and integrating simplicity into every aspect. The ranch is not just a private retreat; it's a gathering place for friends and family, echoing Michalak's childhood dreams of enjoying the outdoors with loved ones.

Beyond the ranch, Michalak manages Pipeline Express, a business he started at 18, crediting its success to the dedicated team he considers family. While his drag racing days are behind him, the thrill of conquering challenges remains evident in his ranching pursuits.

From hunting expeditions to raising exotic animals, the Michalaks have created a unique ecosystem on their ranch, showcasing responsible land stewardship. Their story is an inspiring testament to turning dreams into reality, taking risks, and finding bliss in the unexpected transitions of life.
